On how Democrats should change the fiscal policy

Standard

“Republicans have made clear time and time again that they don’t care about the deficit. And Democrats shouldn’t either. Rather than fixating on the GOP’s shaky math, Democrats should highlight the cruelty of shoveling money to the rich at a time when inequality is soaring and millions languish in poverty ”

    • Because everyone, in my opinion, should have enough money to buy essential goods and live a decent life, as the American Constitution itself states. Therefore, it is unjust that some earn so much while many earn so little. This is one of the disadvantages of a so-called “meritocracy”, which technically is how capitalism works. Taxes exist, among other things, to provide public, free services accessible to everyone and needed by everyone, and rich should contribute more because they can afford it.
